Tuesday, July 6th, 2010Here is my video of the July 4, 2010 parade in Egg Harbor. What is missing on the video? My “friend” Bruce Hill from the Lull-Abi Inn dumping an entire bucket of ice water on me, the man and his son jumping on our float and trying to be in the parade with us (mission aborted) and our own float in its entirety. What our float consisted of was Mark and I riding on a bed and the signs say “Make your own fireworks at Egg Harbor Lodge!” and the sign on the hot tub with our girls said “Leave the kids at home!”
And of all the video I took, who lands on the front? That’s Jeff Larson from the Landmark Resort... damn!
Door County’s July 4th Celebration…
Saturday, July 3rd, 2010Looks like a picture perfect weekend for the July 4th holiday. Egg Harbor’s fireworks are set for tonight and Egg Harbor’s parade is at 1:30 tomorrow.
Door County is full to the brim right now, but come Monday… mass exodus. The weather will be awesome next week, so a trip to Door County may be in order for those of you who could use a little mini vacation.
We are going to hang out at Egg Harbor Lodge tonight and then head to a friend’s to watch the fireworks. Tomorrow, the “building of the float” begins. Every year we think we can’t finish in time, but every year we do. Watch for my parade pics next week.

Fyr Bal in Door County this weekend…
Friday, June 18th, 2010Ephraim’s 46th Annual Fyr Bal Festival is all set for June 18-20. In addition to the fireworks, free Trolley rides, food and and music, bonfires are lit on the shore around the harbor signifying the burning of the “Winter Witch” and welcoming the long days of summer. 
Fyr Bal (pronounced fear ball, not fire ball or fur ball) also ushers in the new “Chieftain” by boat. The new Chieftain’s identity is kept secret until he or she is visible to the festival goers. I think my favorite Chieftain, had to be Scotty Weborg a well known and loved Ephraimite and probably one of Gibraltar High School’s biggest sports fan. Click here for the full festival schedule.
Contrary to the weather report, the weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend. Go to Fox11online.com for an accurate and up to date weather report. Don’t ask me about the weather, I am known to lie about it quite often. PS I have a few units available beginning Saturday.

Fashion Show Breakfast – Landmark Resort (Egg Harbor Room) Emcee Cami Rapson – from WBAY-TV Channel 2 in Green Bay. For this I will channel my inner Tyra and model for the Patricia Shoppe… hope I don’t break a heel.

Pub Crawl - Door County Trolley pick-up at Carrington Pub & Grill ($10)

What are we doing at Egg Harbor Lodge you ask? Well, margaritas and snacks of course… either on our terrace or in the office if it gets too chilly- Friday and Saturday afternoon from 4-6 pm. I might possibly make Jalapeno Poppers… yum.
I don’t have activities planned for the weekend at Egg Harbor Lodge but if you are looking for R&R, great sunsets from your private balcony and maybe a cocktail or two… we have it! And remember, we are an equal opportunity resort… men are welcome this weekend too.
