Dovetail Gallery Egg Harbor…

Dovetail Gallery, famous in Egg Harbor because of their “Egg Art” has been owned for the past fifteen years by Egg Harbor resident Kathy Mand Beck. My pal Jon Jarosh who is the Director of Communications and PR for the Door County Visitor Bureau did a fantastic video on this really specialized boutique in Egg Harbor.  I couldn’t possibly do justice to this unique store and the special person that owns it, so I am posting Jon’s video. P.S.  One more super cool thing about Dovetail Gallery are their Copper Sprinklers… and seriously folks a DINOSAUR EGG… owned by Steven Spielberg!  This place is definitely on the Door County to-do list!

Egg Harbor Lodge…

Wow, it has been really busy but when you have a business in Door County that is the name of the game and we love it.  We have had so  many new guests this year which has been excellent but so many of our guests return year after year and that is probably the most fun part of being a resort owner.  We had guests last weekend who got married in Door County and the newlyweds and their relatives stayed at Egg Harbor Lodge which was a lot of fun.  We have had a lot of ladies getting away for the weekend too but more often than not we have couples  staying here.  I snapped a few photos recently of some of our  guests…

Don’t forget the Door County Triathlon and Half Iron man will be held this weekend… sadly we will not be participating this year but my niece Annie is and I am going to film some of the race tomorrow morning.  I know Annie is going to do great… can’t wait!  Here is a picture of Nellie, Emilie and I last year…

Door County July 4th

It has been so crazy I haven’t had time to blog… that is going to change.  The fireworks in Egg Harbor were awesome… and of course the parade was great… lots of cool floats.  Mark pulled our float in behind Katie Sawyer, who is this years Miss Door County.  Our float’s theme was “What Happens at Egg Harbor Lodge… Stays At Egg Harbor Lodge“.  We basically used the theme from last year.  I never said we were original.  Some guy downtown sprayed us with an actual garden hose while we were at a dead stop, then a different guy jumped in with us… not cool but the parade watchers loved it.  Oh well, I guess if you ride through a parade in a hot tub you need to be ready for anything.  Here’s the video…
