We went to a Packer game yesterday.  It was excellent.  We were fortunate enough to score a parking pass and got to park at Lambeau Field.  We got there early to tailgate.  Everyone near us was grilling just amazing food… prime rib, chicken, gumbo you name it.  One party had a big table with white linen and chafing dishes… yet another had a whole fajita bar set up  complete with margaritas.  We were satisfied standing around our smokey joe with our pre-cooked Johnsonvilles.  We were so lame we didn’t even have a table. BUT, when it came time for clean-up we came in first place.

Our Joe won his football game Friday night.  Our Sevastopol Pioneers did not have a very good year last year so the win was huge.  Joe is a senior and the quarterback so he was pretty excited.  I was really proud when after the game he came over to the sideline to give me a big hug.

tornado-party-1.jpgThe party was a huge success… my only regret was some of my girlfriends who have business weren’t able to make it. BUT… tons of people did. The food was excellent and the weather great. Mark’s sisters helped us A LOT or we couldn’t have pulled it off. I owe them a huge thanks and big hugs.

Door County Famous

Eli MatsonHave you heard about this guy?  Eli Mattson, a 26 year old singer/ songwriter who started his music career in Door County made it into the top 40 of America’s Got TalentEli has been performing outside of J. Jeffrey Taylors’s in Fish Creek on Saturdays for a couple of years.

Last night was my first time watching the show or even seeing Eli Mattson, although I have heard his song Baby Doll on a local radio station and I have to say I am a fan.  The TV show itself was excruciating to watch with its “Tap Dancin’ Dads”, a guy who eats fire, a couple of transvestite singers and a four year old little girl who probably should have been home in bed.  But watch it I did…. all two hours of it.  It was worth it.  This kid can really sing and play the piano.  I am ashamed I didn’t take the time to see him this summer.  So take the time to watch and vote for what could be Door County’s newest celebrity.
