Well, I took my own advice and Mark and I and our friends Nancy & Jim had dinner at Trio last night- delish…

Today we stopped at Casey’s for lunch and I had the smoked chicken wings, I can’t seem to order anything else, they are so goood!  Casey’s has new owners Mathew Peterson & Regan Spangler, who also own Pelletier’s in Fish Creek which is famous for their fabulous Fish Boils.  Casey’s BBQ and Smokehouse will feature, yes, you guessed it smoked food.  Ribs, pork, chicken… Casey’s daytime bartender, Leah, is efficient and friendly and makes people want to hang out.  We unfortunately, had to get back to work.  Maybe next time.

Egg Harbor, Door County this weekend

Friday, May 30th, 2008

While there isn’t a festival going on in Egg Harbor this weekend, there is plenty to do… The weather is going to be sunny and warm so if I had off I would probably take a nice bike ride and do a little shopping in the village. One of my favorites is Door County Nature Works. Polly and Don, the owners have really beautiful things… anything from glasses to furniture.  For lunch, I would go to Casey’s for a Ruby Special… a delicious burger, fries and soda.  Ruby is a family friend who is the chef at lunch time.  I think I would hang around Harbor View Park and Egg Harbor’s Marina and watch the boaters. For dinner, I would probably go to Trio, they have a nice special with salad and dessert included for $19.95. The heat is on in our pool at the lodge, so even if I am working, I will probably take a dip on Sunday before I go to my niece’s graduation (Mark will take front desk duty.)  Don’t forget, we have our stay two nights and get the third free special going on until June 10 and we still have a couple of vacancies!
